We are fully aware of environmental issues and adopt precise sustainability criteria to safeguard the marine ecosystem.

- When obtaining raw material we promote eco-sustainable fishing in compliance with the EU Fisheries Protocol laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 1005/2008 to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU)

- We belong to the Earth Island Institute, an American environmental association that employs observers on board fishing vessels to monitor the species of fish caught; with this Institute we support the project dolphin safe, thus guaranteeing that our tuna is fished with selective methods that exclude the capture of dolphins

- We support the pole and line method of fishing yellowfin tuna, a larger species than the skipjack which is normally fished by this method. The pole and line fishing entailing a direct man/fish confrontation is eco-sustainable because only adult tunny fish are caught so there is no risk of by-catch of turtles or other species. Furthermore it also creates and guarantees jobs in parts of the world where fishing is the main resource for local population
